Break and Bend : Diaphanous
“Leo, I think I should go to sleep. I don’t wanna be too tired for the tournament tomorrow.”
Leonardo blinked, pulling himself awake from his half drowsed state. He hadn’t realized just how exhausted he had been during the trek from Central Park back to his apartment earlier that night, his thoughts still swept up in ensuring Michelangelo felt as safe as he did warm. Forty minutes and one long shower later, the younger turtle now lay curled up against him as they nestled on his living room sofa, mindlessly staring at whatever silently played on the television.

Leonardo hadn’t felt his toes in over an hour. Each stomping thud of his boots rang painfully through his numb legs, tingling needles shooting up his calves with every step. He hardly even noticed it anymore. The frigid midnight air couldn’t get to him now. There was only one choice left.

February 14th.
That had always been a normal day for us. We treated it like any other. It had no meaning to us and we had no meaning to it, until April took us to the surface a week from that day.
She said it was a surprise. She refused to tell us anything till we made it up. We slide open the sewer lid that separated our world from hers. We jumped out one by one, Donnie helping April to her feet. We scanned the area, our senses alert. Leo took the lead as he usually did, giving the alley one finally check. When he was satisfied there was no danger, he spoke up.
“Alright, April. What’s the surprise?”
She walks adown the
